The emme coalition, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and our work focuses on providing care to families who need us the most. We prioritize a holistic approach to maternal healthcare. We believe that by addressing the various barriers pregnant women and girls face, we can empower them to take control of their health and well-being while preparing mentally and physically for baby.

VISION: Mothers and families experience healthy pregnancies, supported births and healing that shapes positive outcomes for generations.
MISSION: To provide compassionate, culturally responsive and trauma-informed care, education and advocacy for pregnant women and mothers to support healthy pregnancies, births and positive parenting.
Our Philosophy
At emme, we believe maternal health is about more than physical care. It’s about honoring the full person and creating the conditions for healing rooted in dignity and trust. Our holistic coaching approach supports our participants through every stage of their journey, focusing on culturally rooted wellness that includes nutrition, movement, stress management, emotional health, and lifestyle support. We recognize that healing is not one size fits all, so our coaches meet participants where they are with compassion, accountability, and practical tools that reflect their lived experiences and personal goals. Whether someone is preparing for birth, navigating postpartum, or simply trying to feel better in their body, our goal is to create space for growth, grace, connection, and lasting change. At emme, we walk alongside our participants, offering support that is as individualized as it is transformative.
Our Team
The emme team is a collective of mothers, survivors, birth workers, healers, and advocates, each rooted in lived experience and united by a shared mission: to transform maternal health for pregnant women from the most underserved neighborhoods. We lead with love, accountability, and cultural humility, drawing from our own journeys to create the kind of care we wish we had. From the frontlines of community work to the strategy table, we move in lockstep with those we serve, building trust, healing generational harm, and designing systems of care that center dignity, safety, and joy. Our strength comes from the deep relationships we’ve built with our community, relationships grounded in listening, truth-telling, and shared power. At emme, we don’t believe in saviorism. We believe in solidarity. And together, we are building a new model of maternal care that is led by us, for us, and built to last.
