Now an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, emme has evolved from a successful pilot into a permanent, community-rooted solution. We are reimagining how maternal and women's health is delivered, particularly for Black and Brown pregnant women and girls who are survivors of abuse, neglect, and trauma. 

The emme Safe Haven Center: A Vision for the Future 

We are now raising funds to build the emme Safe Haven Center, a one stop wellness hub for women and girls who are pregnant and have survived violence, trauma, or neglect. 

The Safe Haven Center will include: 

• Studio apartments for pregnant women and their children escaping domestic violence 
• A childcare center and preschool so mothers can learn, heal, and work 
• A learning and job readiness center to help women gain skills and confidence 
• A mini medical clinic offering OB GYN, pediatrics, family medicine, dental, and behavioral health care in one trusted location 

This center will be a sanctuary and a launchpad. It is a radically compassionate and culturally grounded answer to generational trauma and systemic failure.

• Launching CHW and doula certification programs 
• Expanding age eligibility 
• Preparing for statewide and national replication 
• Deepening our model through community informed, trauma responsive care
